The successful candidate is responsible for all the technical aspects of the projects and/or proposals he is assigned to, starting from the assessment of the contractual requirements till to their implementation and verification. Ensures that hardware and/or software are designed and installed in a manner that meets the needs of the organization.
Identify the technical deliverables, based on the scope agreed by the Project Manager, and use these as a basis to assist in the provision the project estimates and project execution plan. Responsible for providing the technical support to the project manager to ensure that the project will deliver the required benefits and is fit for purpose.
Responsible for ensuring that all technical scope change is agreed with the project manager prior to implementation through the life of the project. Work with the project planner to agree technical team resource requirements and milestones and to monitor progress against them.
Leads a team of system engineers during the various phases of the project:
· As-built documentation
· Staging and Configuration
· On-site installation supervision
· System optimization
Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Monitors resources and systems performance and provides recommendations as required.
Represents the main technical interface for the internal and external Customers for all project related matters. Participates to meeting with customers, consultants, manufacturers and other stakeholders.
Estimates engineering efforts and costs of hardware and/or software required for the implementation of the project requirements.
To provide input to project governance reviews. Reports on project technical scope performance against the baseline plan and stated benefits of the project.
Capable of supervisory capacity for planning, organizing, communicating and personnel management skills. Min. 8 years of relevant professional experience and a strong track record in the management of detailed engineering activities for complex multi-disciplinary projects. Design and Commissioning experience of Telecommunications and Security Systems, such as: IP Networks, SDH/DWDM, RF Systems, Radar & VTS, CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Command & Control Systems. Defence or Oil&Gas industry background is considered a plus. English (fluent written and spoken) is required.
Role based in Rome, but the candidate will be available for medium to long term assignments to project sites worldwide.
